Before you even started planning your wedding, heck before he even popped the question you have imagined yourself in a wedding dress. Either as a kid or during your relationship there has been a moment, a glimpse of THE dress you see yourself walking down the aisle in.

Now, the problem wont be to find a dress (as close as possible to the one you imagined yourself in), but you probably underestimate the time you will need to find it. Bridal shops have hundreds of dresses stacked ready to be tried on, and YOU WILL want to try other ones on, and there is a chance you will decide on a completely different dress in the end, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.... Here are a few steps to make it easier for you to hunt down that dress.

  1. Many shops today have online services, and thankfully emails. You can check online if they have the dress you want and even send them an inquiry with a photo of the dress, because many shops store dresses that are out of season, or older or just not top sellers and they can check if they have some version of the dress you want.

  2. Once you narrow it down to the shops you NEED to see, make appointments early on so you have time either to reschedule or come back for a fix-up before the wedding day.

  3. Once you decide on the budget fr your dress, add another 20% on it just in case you find another dress to be the one, so you have that extra money aside if it turns out to be more expensive - if not, you have extra cash for better shoes ;)

  4. Pick the dress first and then the shoes. You might put a lot of effort in finding the perfect shoes, and you should, but remember the dress is the focus, the first thing everyone sees and depending on your dress, they might not even get to see the shoes ;). Also it is very important you choose a shoe that you can last in for hours of dancing - or a shoe change after the photos like a pair of flip flops if you're on the beach or some slip-on's.

Most importantly never forget its YOUR wedding day, and although you will value your friends opinions and of your mom and mother-in-law etc. so try and choose the dress that makes YOU feel like its the ONE. And believe me, you will know!

And that's a wrap!

xoxo
