How to break the news to your friends and family about where and when?

Well, thanks to todays technology you can do more than sending invitations to home addresses, and depending on your style there are a few ways of making them on your own.

First you have to decide if you will be sending them via post or email (you can also do both because we all have a few family members who prefer to feel paper in their hands, because its not real unless they do ;)).

Invitation design

There are tools online that are really cool, like Canva or Crello.. You have hundreds of options to make your initiation for free and download without having to pay premiumship. You can design and download the .jpg at your set size and make Instagram posts, Facebook posts and Stories to keep them up-to-date about your wedding procedures or changes.

When you make your invitation using these tools, your end product is the print version to send to a printing service and the raw file which you can use as your e-vite .

E-vites

Email invitations will save you time and money. You can use your own email inbox but for organizational reasons I would recommend using a free mediator like MailChimp. It allows you to design the template (invitation) and you can send it to the mail group all at once and their RSVP's will come to your email inbox in MailChimp where you can have them all in one place, and from there handle the correspondences.

Each guests will receive the invitation via email which they can open on any of their devices. Also, you can send some via text message for those who maybe do not own an email address. It is digital so how you decide to share it is totally up to you, and if you do the design yourself its completely free.

Webpage invitation

Now here's an innovative idea! You can build a webpage just for the wedding! This is a terrific idea especially for abroad weddings. Everything you need to know about the venue, accommodation, how to's, locations, maps for your guests - all in one place. Helps to avoid answering emails and messages about small details for all guests individually.

Website builders like WIX have free versions you can use for such an invitation. It will need a little bit more time from you to make it, but its an easy drag&drop website builder. You can even buy a domain www.mywedding.com for example for a few months at a small cost. You can send your link through the built-in email newsletter - all you have to do is add the addresses you want to send the invite to, and click send. All the RSVP's and correspondences can be done in the website dashboard - all in one place.

Classic paper invitations

This is the most expensive option - design, print and stamps... Of course, there is something special about sending out invitations and receiving the RSVP's. So you also have the option of saving money here by using the tools Canva or Crello to make your own design, so you can save on the designer and also you can handout the invitations in person to minimize your send-out cost. Also, you have to wait for each individual to RSVP and even might have to phone them to remind them... These are the downsides of old fashioned invites. But if you need that charm and it fits within your wedding idea, than go for it! This whole process of the wedding is about YOU and YOUR day, so YOU do YOU :)!

So, we narrowed it down to three possibilities: e-vite, webpage and classic.

For all three you can use the recommended tools to make the style and visual you want, E-vites can be sent with your own personal inbox or MailChimp.

Webpages are an all-in-one package with a built-in newsletter inbox.

Of course you can have all this done for you to save you time, but if you want to explore it as an option all the links above are active so check it out before making a decision.

And that's a wrap
