Flowers & Theme

Usually these two go together; you choose a color, a style and create a theme that goes with your personality. But what else does this refer to?
Flowers
A big deal for the wedding! Maybe you have a favorite flower, or maybe you will choose once you decide on your venue? For example, if you are having an outside wedding then you must consider the season the wedding is in - if it a hot summers day then you will want to avoid any delicate flower because without water, they will wilt (there are solutions to this) or if they are directly in the sun they will fade. Flowers will always be the first focus when entering a venue, they will be everywhere, so this you must choose wisely. Sometimes simplicity has the highest effect, smaller is bigger or less is more! Either way, your flower will be the color of the wedding.

Invitations
The invitations should follow the color of your flower, or a blend between the general vibe of the wedding (according to venue) and style. For example if you have a forest wedding, than aside from the color of your flower you can add some green, or maybe have a brown background or frame edges. If you use the flower colors as the main aspect of the invitation then maybe add a font that suits your theme, lets say a cursive font in gold, black is always classic but you can adjust it to your theme by using bold, all caps, or do a mix color style and always use a max of two font styles.
Thank you's
These seem to always follow up the invitation in style, but you can also play with this a bit. If you use one color in the invites as a background or frame maybe switch it for the thank you's, use another color or make it opposite. If you're thinking of having gifts than keep in mind where the wedding is, for example if your wedding is abroad than try to catch the domestic vibe by gifting something traditional to your location. If you have a set theme like an Mediterranean wedding then make sure you go by the lines of olives, salt and lemons.
Dress code/accessories
This is something you can play with - get your guest involved by adding to your theme. This could be a specific color of bow ties for men, a nail polish for the ladies, maybe a flower for the hair... You might want a strict dress code, so why not have fun with it: all the men can be in white and all the ladies in black to make a ying-yang effect being opposite of the bride and groom. Or instead of having a strict dress code maybe you can give them an accessories that will complete the picture. For beach weddings same colored flip flops or maybe one color for men and another for the ladies.

Esthetics
This part can be the glue to your theme. This is where you can have fun! An outside wedding screams for an arch, now you can choose from material to color and shape so see what fits you best. A golden round arch is romantic, and a wooden one gives more of a rustic vibe but when you add the flowers it can totally change the image.
Adding props like photo booths, lighting, candles, balloon all ads to the theme. So maybe if your main color is pink then a candy-cone machine could fit in. If you are in the middle of a meadow then a beer bar could hit a note. It all comes down to finding something that can go with your theme but also give the guests something fun to do or try.
And that's a wrap!
