So, you decided to have an outdoor wedding? Yay! May it be your favorite park, beach at sunset, your grandparent’s backyard or charming AirBnB in Croatia. Some of the most romantic venues are created outside, however, although they look amazing, they require a lot of planning and time. You have to think of backup plan in case of rain or strong wind, you may need a license or two, and if you are not hiring wedding planners, you will need some muscles and a lot of time to plan it, organize it and put it all up. Either way, here are some tips you should consider when doing outdoor wedding.
1. Lights
Lights are of such importance when the sun goes down. They can make the venue seem perfect. Or they can bring out the vibe of dark when there is too little of it or tackiness when too much and wrongly planned. Soft lights, candle lights, fairy lights, so many choices. We found some perfect examples on Pinterest that will give you pointers in which direction to go with the lights.

2. Arch
Saying your I do’s under perfectly styled arch. Oh my! It is a perfect way to frame the whole venue and point the central place of attention. Lace, flowers, macrame, combination, oh so many options on decorating it. Important tip: first decide on style of the wedding and colors and then start planning your arch. Here are some cool visuals that you can pin down on your board.

3. Décor
Some venues ask for minimal effort for decoration, others ask for a lot. If you are not hiring a wedding planner, be sure to revisit your venue few days before the big event just to make sure everything is the way it should be. When you decide on your style and colors, it’s time to think about décor. There are so many options and so many ideas out there that it would be a shame not to take inspiration from Pinterest.
4. Props
Disposable cameras laying on the guest’s chairs so they can take pictures of everything they find beautiful and leave it for you at the end of the party. Photo booth. Fun wedding signs. Candy bar. All these things will give your wedding a fun spin. Depending on what you want, you can buy the props yourself if you’re thinking of having disposable cameras or paper props for photos, or you can rent them out if you’re thinking of styled photo booth. Either way, the wedding is so much fun with props. Here are some cool ideas from Pinterest.

5. Weather props
Yes, yes, all those beautiful outdoor wedding pictures look amazing, but you don’t see the mosquitoes, bugs, cold, or any other bad sides of an outdoor wedding. But don’t worry, all these things are preventable if you think of them in time. For the summer evenings, be sure to have mosquitoes and bugs repellent like citronella candles or those bug zappers otherwise your guest, and you, will be annoyed. If you’re doing an Autumn wedding, don’t forget that nights tend to be colder so blankets or outside heaters will make so much difference. Check out some ideas we collected for you.

And don’t forget: good planning takes the stress away. So, plan ahead and enjoy your day!
